The Magic of Music
Maghull Wind Orchestras 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert

At the Philharmonic Hall, under musical director Phil Shotton, MWO will play a range of music old and new, including a number of pieces being premiered at this anniversary event. These include a new work by award-winning Scottish composer Tom Harrold, commissioned for MWO by the British Association of Symphonic Bands and Wind Ensembles (BASBWE), a bass clarinet concerto for Liverpool’s Andy Roberts by Bill Connor, and a composition by one of MWO’s own members Adam Dutch. Joining MWO will be the NHS Choir and children from Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School in Southport, making this a joyful afternoon that only the magic of music can create.
